Jen and Joel, Married! | A wedding at The Barn at Gibbet Hill (part 1 of 2)

Five days of rain. Jen and Joel were up against five days of rain in Boston. However, on the sixth day, the sun broke through and shone brilliantly, and we could not have had more luck because this is one special couple and this is one beautiful wedding. Jen and Joel chose the natural and gorgeous surroundings of The Barn at Gibbet Hill for their May wedding, surrounded by about 75 of their closest family and friends. The details are so quirky, modern, and unique, I have to split this into two posts! Seriously, it bears without saying, my clients are SO freaking cool.

I loved Jen’s style from the moment I met her at our first consult. First, she has short hair. Reflecting her independent and strong outlook on life, her dress was short and her shoes dyed to a beautiful lilac to match her wedding colors

I LOVE having First Looks (more time for photos!!). Even more special when you can just tell the groom can’t wait to see his bride

The super fabulous wedding party was so awesome! Jen and Joel told me that they were going to be super fun, and they were not kidding

Jen told me that there would be many tattoos. So rocking awesome I had to get a picture that featured them!

I try not to make the girls jump, so this photo cracks me up!  Joel’s brother is the one doing the mid-air split on the right

We then gathered on the deck of the barn for a very emotional ceremony. I was able to see the music selections for this day.
Joel has super cool tastes in video games, movies, and music. I totally geeked out when I saw that he was coming down the aisle to Overture from the Tron: Legacy soundtrack – one of my favorite soundtracks of this year and a pretty fun movie too =)

One fun behind-the-scenes photo: Joyce and Suzanna taking their turns shooting =)

Stay tuned for more portraits of Jen and Joel, and a reception chock full of fun details and beautiful dancing moments!!!

Jill oh em gee. The reflections of the clouds in the windows are amazing! Love the bouquet, too! Looking forward to seeing the rest.

Joanne I love how the bride’s personal style has been reflected into the wedding – the shoes, her bouquet and the flowers in her hair! The black & white photo of the four guys is such a classic.
