This is it everyone, my last 2012 wedding! Angie and Paul’s day started out ominously – the rain plowed down on the midwestern plains of Chicago, it was hard seeing the road as I made my way down the highway. However, as luck would have it, the rain slowly lifted so that by the time we had the First Look, it cleared! Their bird-inspired wedding was full of fun and happy moments, and a celebration of their different backgrounds in a ceremony that included both their Catholic and Jewish heritages.
You’ll see birds throughout the wedding. Angie often called Paul “birdie”
This is the love story of two people who ran into each other so often in college, they figured, let’s go out. And the rest was history
Irresistible blue shoes!
Angie carried a handkerchief that belonged to her grandmother. The necklace contains a stone from her grandmother’s ring
Having fun getting ready
Loving the light here
So radiant Angie!
We did all these portraits indoors while waiting for the rain to stop
Angie and her fabulous ladies!
I love the star-shaped flowers, they’re pretty cool!
Angie told me her mom might cry
The First Look was nothing but emotional. Before Angie even got to tap Paul on the shoulder, she started crying
I love this shot of the wedding party!
We were so lucky the weather cleared and I worked quickly to get these shots. These were done all at the church that Angie attended while growing up. She also went to the adjoining school
We got some great autumn colors!
We began the formalities with a ketubah signing
Then it is off to the church for the interfaith wedding ceremony
I was told this was the first time this church saw a chuppah
Angie and her mother handmade these super cute birdhouses as centerpieces!
I love the egg nest escort cards!
Angie sang the entire first dance to Paul. It was really sweet
I love how much everyone of all generations got into the dancing at this party
Time for the horah! Angie told me she had nightmares about this moment. But all went well and no one fell off their chair =)
Horahs are incredibly fun. I wish more weddings had them :D
Thank you Angie and Paul for having me at your wedding, and thank you so much to both of your families for being absolutely wonderful to work with!
