My golden rule: I think everyone looks 10x better when they smile. Even if they have crooked teeth. Umm… I have crooked teeth!
A lot of people freeze when you tell them to smile for a photo. I can’t tell you how often I hear from people, “I just don’t want to be told to smile… I have this really fake smile…”
While I do take bridal portraits and some posed photos, I keep with the genuine spirit of the day. Of course I want people to smile and show that happiness and look good, but I take a very laid-back approach. You let me take care of light, composition, technique, etc, and you probably won’t even notice how I make it all work. You, dear, sit back, relax, take a sip of champagne, hug your best friend, and wiggle your toes as you wait to see your other half, and know that your beauty has always been there – it’s in your love story, it’s in your personality, it’s who you are, and I will bring that out.
Most of my engagement and wedding photos come naturally from two people who are in love and enjoying an amazing day together.
I do not believe in asking you to smile. I do believe in being fabulous and having lots of fun.
